Farfel (Farfela)

1/4 t. salt
1 egg slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. flour
Add salt to beaten egg.
Add egg to flour.
Mix with the fingers to form a very stiff ball of dough.
Let stand until hard enough to grate. (about 1 hour)
Grate on the large side of the grater.
Toss to separate, and spread thinly on a platter.
Dry completely before storing in a jar or plastic bag. When ready to use, drop in boiling salted water or soup.
