I make this Almond Roca recipe every year for our extended family Chanukah party and it has become a family tradition. The original recipe calls for 5 cent Hershey bars!

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
14 5-cent Hershey bars
1 cup ground almonds
Mix butter and sugar – turn burner to high, stirring constantly. When boiling add ½ cup ground almonds and cook until the color of almond roca. Pour out onto parchment paper. When slightly cool turn out onto foil and mark in squares. Place Hershey bars on candy. When melted – spread and sprinkle with almonds. When hard, turn over, place under broiler for 2-3 minutes and repeat Hershey and almonds.  Cool in refrigerator.
