Ice Box Yeast Dough
½ lb butter
½ tsp salt
½ cup sugar
¾ cup warm milk
3 cups flour
1 package dry yeast
3 egg yolks
Filling
3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
2 cups nuts
1 cup raisins
Mix
2 Tbs cinnamon
2 Tbs sugar
1 Tbs cocoa
For the Dough:
Combine 2 tsp. sugar and 4 tsp. lukewarm water.
Let stand for 20 minutes.
Cream butter, sugar, salt and egg yolks.
Add milk, yeast mixture and flour.
Refrigerate in covered bowl overnight. Remove one hour before using.
For the Filling:
Beat 3 egg whites stiff and add 1 cup of sugar. Add 2 cups of nuts and 1 cup of raisins.
Mix together cinnamon, sugar and cocoa.
Divide dough into 4 parts. Roll each on wax paper.
Spread mixture of egg whites, nuts, raisins and some cinnamon mix.
Roll up each part and let raise 2 hours.
Sprinkle remaining cinnamon mixture on top.
Bake 30 minutes or less on a greased pan in 350° oven.
